Shweta Agrawal

Professor

Shweta Agarwal is a Professor and the Venky Harinarayan and Anand Rajaraman Faculty Fellow in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Her work primarily focuses on post-quantum cryptography, particularly on cryptography based on the hardness of lattice problems.
More generally, Shweta Agarwal is interested in exploring mathematical structures that enable novel, advanced capabilities in cryptography, both in the classical and quantum regimes. She is fascinated by the interplay of structure and randomness that lies at the heart of cryptography, a dynamic not unlike that found in abstract expressionism.

Research Interest

  • Cryptography
  • Information Security
  • Theoretical Computer Science
