M.Tech. in Information Security
Web-enabled M.Tech. Program
IIT Madras has established strong collaborations with leading industries through R&D, consultancy projects, and continuing education programs. Many of these efforts have led to the development of innovative products and processes. The Institute offers User-Oriented M.Tech. programs for industry professionals and, based on Senate approval, has introduced Web-Enabled M.Tech. programs. These can be attended remotely during evening hours, providing ample opportunities for student-teacher interaction and post-class engagement through effective course management systems. Students complete core and elective courses, labs, and projects at their own pace, earning certificates for each completed course. Upon meeting the required credits, they are awarded an M.Tech. degree with the same academic rigour as other on-campus programs.
Specialization in Information Security
The M.Tech. in Information Security program developed by the Computer Science department offers a balance of theoretical and practical learning tailored for working professionals. Covering foundational computer science topics and modern information security areas, the program attracts participants from various industries. It also provides flexibility, allowing students to undertake projects within their organisation or through IIT Madras.
